Requesting Books

If a book is not available at your campus library, or if you are off-campus and searching for books to pick up at a future date, you can request the book be routed to any University library and held for you. Note the timeframes outlined below for each type of request.

<<EDIT>>>You can request books through two different methods: the Place a Hold feature in the library catalog or by filling out the Interlibrary Loan Form. <<EDIT>>>

Book Location Method to Use

Place a Hold Feature - University Libraries

The first place to check for a book is in the University library catalog. If you find a book you are interested in, click the Request Item tab below the book information. After logging into the library, you can place a request to have an item transferred between Seminole State libraries or to pick up at the same library. Books requested for transfer between library campuses take 1-3 business days to process. If you would like to hold a book at the same campus where the book is located, you can pick it up the next morning. The library staff will call or email you when the book is ready for pickup.

Interlibrary Loan Form

If you still cannot find your book, you can fill out the Interlibrary Loan Request Form. Make sure to have the title, author, ISBN, and publication date ready for the form. You will also be required to fill out your name, University username, email, phone number, and address.

This type of interlibrary loan could take up to three weeks to fulfill, so make sure to begin your book research early! The library will contact you as soon as your book has arrived.
